CHARITIES

Our work with charities showcases Wavelength’s dedication to highlighting the missions and incredible achievements of charities in bringing about positive change, while raising awareness around critical issues.

Our achievements in this field are vast, and include conducting targeted media campaigns on an international scale; securing extensive national and trade press coverage; successfully campaigning for positive change; amassing 54,000 articles worldwide in under two days; and launching the world’s first-ever charity for facial paralysis.

We have helped:

European Cleft Organisation

The European Cleft Organisation creates environments to ensure every family and all children affected by clefts have life-long access to quality care and equal opportunities within our European societies. Our brief was to conduct a media campaign specific to Bulgaria and Romania, where ignorance of the simple actions to help feed babies with cleft palate was resulting in a huge proportion of these children being placed in orphanages. We prepared news releases including case studies, resulting in a meeting with the Government and a change in official policy. www.europeancleft.org

Facing the World

“Their network and experience as well as their passion and commitment made them an obvious choice when we needed to select an agency to handle the press associated with the separation of the conjoined twins, Rital and Ritag Gaboura. Tingy and her team managed the campaign from the start: co-ordinating the breaking story, overseeing the news conference and liaising with international press and broadcast news. As a result we achieved over 54,000 articles globally in under two days, with front page stories on BBC news, CNN, and Al Jazeera – just to mention a few.” Facing the World Executive Coordinator

Facial Palsy UK

The world’s first Charuty dedicated to Facial Paralysis. Created and implemented strategy to force the NHS mislabelling of ‘cosmetic’ treatment onto the public consciousness, coining the term “Smile Transplants” – securing vast national and trade press coverage, including from Hollywood celebrities.

Restoration of Appearance and Function Trust (RAFT)

Restoration of Appearance and Function Trust is a charity that was formed in 1988 by four plastic surgeons working with burns patients.

Since then, the medical research done by the RAFT scientists and researchers has resulted in many developments that have benefited patients and become part of day-to-day life.

In late 2021 RAFT had come to some critical milestones on its then current programmes, particularly breast reconstruction and bone regeneration. www.raft.ac.uk

British Foundation for International Reconstructive Surgery and Training (BFIRST)

BFIRST is a UK registered charity which trains surgeons and their teams working in the most resource poor countries in the world to enable them to undertake reconstructive Plastic Surgery independently.  Thus releasing children and adults from the state of poverty and destitution associated with physical disability, injury and disease, amenable to surgical treatment. www.bfirst.org.uk

“This is one of the best PR outfits in town. They are always available to help and can instantly organise expert comment on a wide range of medical issues, or the perfect case study. And they always go the extra mile to help journalists.”

Nick McDermott, Health Editor, The Sun newspaper

“Tingy is just the most energetic and effective communicator in the sector. She has a real skill in taking potentially dry material and making it relevant and interesting. And always done with a smile.”

Robert Mendick, News Editor at Sunday Telegraph

“Wavelength's one of the most reliable agencies I know - professional but friendly and prompt which is a rare attribute nowadays. And they really know their stuff. They're great at making and keeping contacts and are loyal, too. It would make my job a lot easier if more PRs were as good as Wavelength”
